• Find the source of the water supply to the leaking tap or pipe and shut it off. If you can’t locate that particular supply, shut the main water valve off.

• If a hot tap is leaking - Turn off the isolation valve on your water heater.

• Turn on the hot water taps to help drain the system.

• If the leak is near any electrical appliances, shut off your power to avoid electrocution.

Tips To Reduce The Risk Of An Emergency

To save the big clean up or damage work after a leak, here are some things you can do to keep the chance of damage to a minimum.

• Find the main shut-off valve and label it so you always know which one it is.

• Locate & label your water, gas or power isolation's to the Hot Water System.

• If you plan on leaving home for more than a week, it’d be a good idea to shut your water & Hot water unit off and drain all the water from your pipes to avoid a burst while you are away.

• Take advantage of our annual service check up, we will ensure all Toilets, taps & flexible connections, Hot water & Gas services are in good working order to minimise the risk of damage or Emergency.
