If you experience a burst or leaking pipe, in addition to calling for assistance, there are some steps you should take:

Find the source of the water supply to the leaking pipe and shut it off. If you can’t locate that particular supply, shut the main water valve off.
Open the lowest outside hose cock ( Hose tap) to slow the flow.
If its a hot water pipe or valve - Turn off your water heater.
Turn on the hot water taps to help drain the system.
If the pipe or valve that’s leaking is near any electrical appliances, shut off your power to avoid electrocution.
If the main supply cant be isolated let us know immediately, we may need to preform a pipe freeze
