Pipe Freezing / Corking

At Jones Plumbers we regard pipe freezing as one of the best techniques for preparing pipes containing water for repairs, maintenance, and upgrade works. 

 

We use pipe freezing as a method to freeze the contents of a section of a pipe by applying liquid nitrogen to the perimeter of the pipe in a controlled manner until the contents of the pipe freeze and form an ice plug. The ice plug adheres to the pipe walls stopping water from flowing through the pipe during pipe repairs/maintenance works.

Once isolation of a section of the pipe is fully achieved (plugged) the work is able to be carried out on the pipe between the edges of the ice plug. We remain onsite to ensure the ice plug is upheld safely until all repairs or upgrades to the pipe are completed & tested.

We provide our pipe freezing service for: Contracting Plumbers or Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Mechanics, Councils, Civil Contractors, etc. Alternatively we can also be contracted to complete a pipe freeze and repair works, as a all in 1 streamlined & efficient service.
